We are located in the heart of Norway’s Lofoten Islands, nestled in between the trees on the shores of Lake Steira. We love to bring like-minded travelers together and create a space where you can fully experience all the outdoor adventures on the islands.

When coming to Lofoten for the first time, we right away fell in love with the islands. The way of living here and the cool people that make such a great community. We are all outdoor enthusiasts that choose this island lifestyle because of the closeness we feel for the outdoors and the activities we can do here. At the end of the day though, we all stay here and love living here because of the people. This community feeling we want to share with the creation of FURU and that is the base of everything we do at FURU. :)

The community in Lofoten is very special. Everyone is outside everyday, doing something fun with their friends. It is super easy to make new friends once you get to know the people. At FURU there always like-minded guests that want to get out and explore the islands or get into one of the many activities you can do on the islands. It's up to you, grab a new adventure buddy at the hostel and head out and meet some rad locals.

Our Coworking Space

The envrionment at the Lobby and Café area is very social and people have lots of chats and plan adventures. Up at the Co-working loft, things are calm and quiet and you will get your work done when you need peace and quiet.

There are so many adventures around every corner to go on and with your new buddies from FURU and with our central location in Lofoten, you don't have to look far for adventure after you work is done.

We stayed in one of the apartments, very spacious, clean, with a large sofa and kitchen. The hostel is in a beautiful location on the lake. The café organizes activities every evening such as quizzes and bonfires. They rent bikes which are convenient for doing a bit of hiking in the surrounding area but the price is quite high, perhaps it should be lowered since they are not even electric. The food at the café is good, the staff is friendly and they make delicious cinnamon rolls. The sauna service with a view of the lake is beautiful.

Share a dorm room with your old or new friends. As your home and adventure base, our dorm rooms are designed to give you comfort and privacy while room-sharing with like-minded travellers. You’ll have a good night’s sleep in our wooden, custom-made beds outfitted with a privacy curtain, a reading light and an electrical socket to charge your gear for another day outdoors. You can cook your food in our common kitchen, but our Café also serves many delicious meals during the summer. Make sure to exchange some adventure plans with your new room mates and make friends for a lifetime.

Our apartments are the right place to relax after a long day in the mountains. The apartments will give you the privacy you seek while still enjoying the adventure-community vibe at FURU. Each apartment has a balcony facing the evening sun and if you are lucky you will spot an Elk passing by not too far from your window.

How to get here

All roads lead to FURU - literally! It's true, as we are in the heart of Lofoten and directly located on the only road (E10) that connects the islands. We are easily accessible by bus, train, car, plane, boat, bike or foot. Whatever you choose, we are happy to help you plan your arrival in advance. Just send us a message here on Coworksurf.
