In the postcard picture-perfect sleepy fishing village of Mompiche you find our Unique Eco hostel. Just 3 minutes from the beach. In a lush tropical oasis, we offer spacious bamboo bungalows with high ceilings and an abundance of natural light, comfy beds, and outdoor Balinese-style showers.

If you like to cook up your own food we have a communal kitchen. Or maybe you just prefer to grab an ice cold beer, cocktail or yummy empanada in our bar on the way back from the surf. When it's dinner time you can indulge in the freshest seafood in one of the village restaurants. And offcourse get your cheap drinks in daily happy hour!

For your work hours, there are lots of cozy spots where you can get your work done. Since we finally were given the chance to upgrade to fiber optic, it has been a game-changer. We have been told we have the best wifi in Mompiche ;)

Our remote working community

Working, hiking, surfing, eating delicious food and chilling, or just having a coconut and chatting with the other guests on the yoga deck. Regardless of what you're doing, it's easy to make friends at the Mudhouse. The covered platform surrounded by hammocks and the other places to hang out makes it a very social place.

Join up for surf sessions during the day, or maybe some after-surf yoga to stretch out your body.
Once the sun sets guests usually come together at night to have drinks, play games, cook communal meals and eat tasty food. Icy cold beers and tasty cocktails are always on offer.

If you want a social work setting, we have a communal area where you can get your work done together with the other remoters in the house. Besides our communal area, all our private bungalows come with a desk, perfect for those days with lots of calls.

For more relaxed workdays, there are also plenty of hammocks and pillows all over the property. Just grab some and make yourself comfy.

Our fiber optic wifi reaches everywhere and there are lots of plugs to go around, so there is no need for running out of batteries.

The Surf near Mompiche, Ecuador

Mompiche is an amazing surf destination; beautiful beaches, great waves, and warm water. The Mompiche break is a pointbreak that peals out one of the longest lefts in the country. If you're lucky you can score up to a 400 m ride.

The break can work any time of the year, but it's most consistent between the months of December and March.

If you are an intermediate to advanced surfer, you can join the friendly locals out at the point. If you are a beginner, there are easier waves closer to the shore.

For some variation, you also have the powerful righthander Portete and the left pointbreak Suspiro a short moto-taxi away.

In case you're not bringing your own gear, or you need some pointers, Mompiche has a handful of surf schools and rentals.
