Working Remotely in Weligama

Tucked away on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, you find the relaxed beach town of Welligama. Known for its long golden beaches and beginner to intermediate-friendly waves, this town is just like Sri Lanka, an upcoming digital nomad destination.

Surfing in Weligama
Known for its mellow, consistent waves, Weligama, meaning ‘sandy village, is the main surf destination on the south coast of Sri Lanka. Due to its location, it's also one of the top places to surf in Sri Lanka from December to April. While the other side of Sri Lanka is the place to go during the European summer.
Besides Weligama's long beach break, which is perfect for beginners to intermediates, there are various other spots along the coast, for more advanced surfers.

Getting There
To easiest get to Weligama you fly into Colombo and take the train or the bus. It's around a 3-4 h journey.
