Coworking in Dairy Beach - Durban

Looking for coworking spaces in Dairy Beach - Durban? Here is an overview:

Working Remotely in Durban

Located on the Indian Ocean coast of South Africa, Durban is famous for its laid-back beach vibes and surf culture. With a year-round tropical climate and temperatures rarely dipping below 24 degrees, it's an ideal place for surfing and remote working.

Although there are some sketchy parts due to the big economic divide, there is a burgeoning cosmopolitan scene here. In comparison to Cape Town and Johannesburg, the city's affordability, also makes it an attractive destination for digital nomads.

With its mix of Indian, African, and European, Durban has a rich diversity in its population, which is reflected in its vibrant cultural art scene as well as its incredible food. With influences from India and beyond, the cuisine is flavorful and the fresh seafood is delicious.

If you want to venture away beyond the city, the Kwa-Zulu Natal region's national parks, and the Drakensberg Mountains are stunning and perfect for weekend trips.

For surfing, the city beach stretch called the Golden Mile provides a safe haven for surfers, thanks to its lifeguards year-round and shark nets. If you prefer a good stretch instead of surfing, you can also join a beachfront yoga session.

When it comes to workspaces, Durban is home to some great coworking spaces. And there are also plenty of work-friendly cafés thanks to a great cafe and coffee culture.

Surfing in Durban and Dairy Beach

Dubbed as "surf city", for a good reason, Durban is an incredible surf destination and a great warm water alternative to J-Bay. Although best known for its excellent beach breaks, the city also has some gnarly reef breaks.

On top of a bunch of awesome breaks within a short distance, thanks to shark nets on most beaches, it's also one of the safest places to surf in South Africa.

If you're a beginner or intermediate, you can surf Durban during the whole year. However, the best time with the least wind is normally from April to September. And if you're looking for the biggest swells, the peak season is June to August.

Dairy Beach, also known as The Wedge, is part of Durban's Golden Mile. With consistent beach break A-frame waves, it's a popular spot and also a major hub for surf competitions.
