Working Remotely in Punta del Este

Known as the Riviera of South America, the resort town of Punta del Este is a popular tourist destination with stunning beaches.

While it's very touristy and expensive during the high season, the city offers a much more relaxed lifestyle during the off-season. So make sure you time your visit according to what type of remote work vibe you're looking for.

Besides great surfing, Punta del Este also offers plenty of other outdoor sports opportunities, such as swimming and sailing. And during the summer months, the city really comes to life with a vibrant nightlife scene.

Surfing in Punta del Este

In Punta del Este, you have various breaks to choose from. The most accessible is El Mir, which is a beach break with lefts and rights. Since it's located right in the city center, you can expect some crowds here.

Another popular city beach is La Brava, here you also have some surf schools and rental options.

A bit further north in the town, you have La Barra. Shaped by an inlet, the waves here can be quite heavy, so this is more of a spot for intermediate to advanced surfers.

If you continue even further east, along the coast, you get to the smaller but popular surf towns La Paloma and La Pedrera. In general, the coast here picks up more swell.
